COALITION OF PYAM CONCERNED YOUTH.
A press conference for the incessant Killings of Innocent Citizens in Pyam chiefdom, Mangu LG, Plateau State, 18th November,2018.
Gentlemen and Ladies of the Press Good Afternoon.
Our hearts are broken into pieces. Our Land has been bathed with blood. Our lives threatened, with Nowhere to run. Our loved ones butchered.
We are traumatized, Angry, broken And Sad.
Sequel to the dastardly attack and brutal killings of our royal fathers by some miscreants, the coalition of concerned pyam youth regrettably express their utter dismay in total to this heinous, barbaric and inhumane acts. This has become a normal occurrence. The pyam nation is known for its very peaceful, law abiding, accommodating and very hospitable ways, so why are all these things happening? This is highly unacceptable and highly condemnable in its entirety.
Recall that, an attack was carried out in Chanso ward on 18th may this year which led to one Usamah Muhammad becoming the victim.
On September 15th this year, we experienced a remorseless killing of a royal father in person of Alhaji Mohammed Ismail Bayero with the title "The paramount ruler of Kadunu who was killed and the Perpetrators of this act are still not known and we have ot on word that some suspects even released, without proper notifications to the case development.
Sadly, few days ago, another attack was unleashed by unidentified persons in Chanso, killing Alhaji Hashimu Mantu (Chiroman Chanso). As we all know, the primary responsibility of every government is to protect the lives and properties of their citizens. We are not declaring vote of no confidence to anyone, but as it is right now, we are not happy and we demand justice. We therefore demand from the state government; to immediately act, find and arrest the perpetrators of these acts.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
We are calling on the relevant authorities to as a matter of urgency nip this wanton killings of innocent souls within Gindiri and its environs in the bud. We still reiterate, the pyam man is not a trouble maker and does not in anyway condone violence to any persons for any reason. The chiefdom has been known over the years as "Tudun natsira" meaning, a safe heaven for internally displaced persons.
While we remain calm, resolute and law abiding, we are expecting a commiserate effort from Plateau State Government; through operation safe heaven and plateau state police command to find a lasting solution to this issue. In saner climes, this could have been a story.
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria
Long live Plateau State.
Long live Pyam Chiefdom.
