YOUTH'S IN PLATEAU STATE TACKLE INFRASTRUCTURE CHALLENGE

Youths in Plateau State tackle infrastructure challenge

Some youths of Sha, Bokkos LGA under the umbrella of Sha Akandi Progressive Association, (SAPA) Youth Wing recently demonstrated the adage which says “Do not think of what your country will do for you… Think rather what you can do for your country”. They came together to face one of the challenges members of their community encounter. Despite being a source of many agricultural products such as Fonio popularly referred to as Acha, Potatoes, vegetables, Avocado pears as well as deposits of precious stones and minerals, a visit to Sha district in Bokkos LGA of Plateau will clearly show the absence of a good road network in the community.
The poor road networks connecting various parts of the community and the outside world made the group attempt to solve the challenge to the best of their ability. They constructed a culvert popularly referred to as “Malele culvert” to ease the difficulty faced by farmers accessing the fertile and irrigable farmlands.
In a remark, the Councilor representing Sha District in Bokkos LGC Hon. Nicholas Mundat Expressed joy at the effort by the youths stating that “it is high time young people use their energies to the benefit of their communities”.

Malale  culvert  is under construction and links to farmlands were our main of agric produce is sourced. Irrigation is a major activitiy in the area and the road is also links to other communities like, Hurti, Manguna, Daffo.
