The apex Igbo socio cultural organisation,Ohanaeze Ndigbo, warned against further shift of the general elections for what ever reason.
The group, in a statement forwarded to DAILY POSTv, by its spokesman, Mazi Chuks Ibegbu, on Tuesday, called on Ndigbo to go out massively on February 23 to exercise their electoral franchise.
The statement said, “Ohanaeze position on the presidential election has already been made known.
Recall that Ohanaeze had earlier endorsed the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidacy of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi for accepting to restructure
Nigeria.
“That position is sacrosanct and in tandem with the decision of the other major ethnic nationality organisations in Nigeria viz: PANDEF, NEF, Middle Belt Forum and Afenifere
“We also warn against any rigging of any type. The democratic will of Nigerians should on no account be trammeled. Votes must count this time around.”
