The Senator representing Kaduna Central, Senator Shehu Sani, has advised the Nigerian government on next step to take concerning a statement made by the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, threatening to ‘kill’ foreigners.
DAILY POST had reported that El-Rufai had threatened that foreigners who try to intervene in the forthcoming general election would return in body bags.
The Kaduna Governor made the threat when he featured on NTA’s Tuesday Live programmeanchored by Cyril Stober.
His statement has since received criticism and condemnation from the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Sani, however, speaking on the threat by El-Rufai, called for a travel ban on the Kaduna Governor.
The Kaduna lawmaker on his Twitter page urged the federal government to dissociate and denounced such threat.
Sani wrote: “The FG and the ruling party must unequivocally dissociate themselves and unambiguously denounce the threat to murder foreigners;Silence or neutrality on this dangerous and tragic statement is consent.
“Travel ban and appropriate global sanctions is needed here.”
